Student Oksana Rubanyak Awarded the Order of Courage, Third Class

The President of Ukraine has awarded the Order of Courage, Third Class, to Oksana Rubanyak, a student at the Faculty of Management, specializing in “Public Administration and Management,” at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. She serves as a commander of an unmanned aerial systems platoon and brings Ukraine closer to victory each day by carrying out exceptionally challenging combat missions.

Oksana Rubanyak dedicated this award to her comrades-in-arms and to those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine:

“This award is not so much mine as it is for those who were by my side and continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with me. It is the award of those who gave their lives to preserve Ukraine – for us.”

The fact that the order was conferred precisely on the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer holds special symbolic meaning.  According to Oksana, true volunteers are those who stood up to defend Ukraine since 2014, as well as those who, in 2022, stepped forward without hesitation to defend the country – even without prior combat experience, but with an unbreakable spirit.
