Information Day of the EU Erasmus+ Programme «Building Connections Between Ukraine and Portugal»

On April 2nd, an Information Day of the EU Erasmus+ Programme «Building Connections Between Ukraine and Portugal» took place at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The event brought together representatives from educational institutions, youth organizations, centers, government bodies, and all those involved in youth work and international cooperation.

Among the speakers were Luiz Alvés, Head of the National Erasmus+ Agency in Portugal, Svitlana Shytikova, Project Coordinator at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Kateryna Zhdanova, Senior Project Manager at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.

Before the main part of the event,  Luiz Alvés and Svitlana Shytikova met with the Acting Rector of PNU, Igor Tsependa. During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for developing academic mobility, the university’s participation in new Erasmus+ projects, and the importance of international cooperation in the post-war reconstruction of education in Ukraine.

Next, Svitlana Shytikova, Project Coordinator at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, took the floor. She introduced all the speakers and briefly outlined the purpose of the event—strengthening connections between Ukraine and Portugal within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Programme.

The main presentation was given by Luiz Alvés, Head of the National Erasmus+ Agency in Portugal. He shared the experience of his country regarding youth mobility, the specifics of implementing education projects, and opportunities for Ukrainian youth organizations within Erasmus+. He emphasized that cooperation between Ivano-Frankivsk and Braga could serve as an example of effective international partnership.
