Dr. David Livingstone from Palacký University in Olomouc, Czechia visited our university once again and gave a series of talks to students at the Department of English Philology. Dr. Livingstone previously spent three months with us last spring semester.
The latest visit consisted of not only a two week stay in Ivano-Frankivsk, but also lectures delivered in Lviv, Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Ternopil. Dr. Livingstone’s talks here concerned British Modernism, Ernest Hemingway and the Short Story, American history through Folk Music and conversational topics about education and the English language.
Dr. Livingstone has also been cooperating on co-authoring academic articles with members of both the English department and the theatre/music department.
During his stay, he discussed further cooperation including expanding the Erasmus+ exchange programme to other departments and faculties. There were also fruitful talks concerning projects sponsored by the Visegrad group and other international organisations.
Dr. Livingstone is a dedicated supporter of not only our university but also Ukraine in general and looks forward to his next visit and continued cooperation.
