The representatives of the academic staff of the university took an active part in the training sessions which, within a few days, were carried out by our foreign partners from the University of Cyprus in the framework of the project «Modernization of pedagogical higher education be innovative teaching instruments» – MoPED» (№ 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) in the State institution «South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky».
Considerable attention was paid to the use of innovative teaching methods in the educational process, in particular, the organization of research training on STEAM subjects. The topic of active discussion was the question of conducting training experiments in groups, cooperative learning and the role of a teacher in its organization, collaborative technology in creating inquiry learning spaces (ILS) on the Go-Lab platform. The training participants learned how to design, create and use inquiry learning spaces in accordance with empirical studies, got acquainted with the stages of research training, the requirements for training ILS content, the ability to organize group work in conducting researches, technical and methodological support at all stages of implementation these tasks. The vivid discussion was accompanied by the presentation of group ILS projects that could be implemented in the educational process of institutions of general secondary education.
No less spectacular were the practical tasks of using digital tools for the development of critical thinking, as well as the presentation of the experience of organizing a practically oriented future teacher training at the universities of the Republic of Cyprus and others.
The head of the academic group of the “MOPED” project, Professor Olena Budnyk remarked, the results of the trainings are useful for the teachers of our university and will be used in the process of developing new courses for future pedagogues. As a result of these studies, it is also planned to conduct trainings for the academic staff of the Precarpathian National University, which are involved in the preparation of specialists in specialties 013 Primary Education and 014 Secondary Education (according to specialties).
Upon completion of the event, all the participants received certificates of advanced training.
