Today, representatives from Croatia visited Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University: former State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Croatia, Deputy Minister of Justice of Croatia Mija Svitan, and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in the Western Region Vitalii Zapukhliak. On the occasion of this visit, a meeting was organized with students of the Institute of Law, headed by Director Yurii Mykytyn, the Faculty of History, Political Science, and International Relations, headed by Dean Ihor Hurak, as well as the Department of Military Training.
“Mija Svitan is a person who developed the mechanisms for Croatia’s successful accession to the EU. Subsequent EU members used her experience, particularly Croatia’s experience, in their journeys to the European Union. I hope today’s meeting will allow us to exchange experiences and find new opportunities for our cooperation,” noted the Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law Yurii Mykytyn.
During the meeting, an interesting discussion took place, with students actively asking questions and discussing current issues of European integration, anti-corruption efforts, and post-war recovery. Particular interest was shown in the specific steps that can accelerate Ukraine’s EU accession process.
Mija Svitan shared her work experience in Croatia and provided examples of successful reforms that could be useful for Ukraine. The students also shared their thoughts on the prospects for the development of Ukrainian society and the possibilities for further cooperation between Ukraine and Croatia.
