A new conference interpretation training lab has been opened at our university! The Department of English Philology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University recently presented the outcomes of its project, “Capacity BuildingPost-Graduate Conference Interpreters’ Training at PNU – 2023-2024”, supported by the European Parliament.
Under the grant agreement between PNU and the European Parliament, the project’s aim is to train highly qualified interpreters who will further meet the requirements for accreditation and certification of interpreters in the EU.
During the project’s implementation period, the Department of English Philology in the Faculty of Foreign Languages has expanded the academic hours devoted to teaching conference interpreting within the Master’s program, “English Language and Literature, Second Foreign Language and Translation.” Furthermore, the curriculum for the relevant courses, including “Simultaneous Interpreting” and “Consecutive Interpreting,” has been updated to align with EU standards.
