3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russian War Crimes – From Documentation to Punishment”

The 3rd scientific and practical conference with international participation, titled “Russian War Crimes – From Documentation to Punishment,” took place at the Educational and Scientific Law Institute of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The event was organized and supported by the Center for Documentation and Research of War Crimes, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, the Department of Policy in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Law, the Department of Judiciary, the Department of Law Enforcement Activity, and the public organization “Progressive Society of Ivano-Frankivsk.” The conference brought together over 50 scholars and analysts from more than 14 higher education institutions, research organizations, and think tanks from Ukraine, France, Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic.

The conference was opened by Valentina Yakubiv, the First Vice-Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, who greeted the participants and emphasized the relevance of discussing war crimes in the current context.

The conference served as a platform for deep scientific analysis and discussion of current issues of international law related to the documentation and punishment of Russian war crimes. With the active participation of leading experts and representatives of the academic community, the event facilitated the exchange of experiences and the development of new approaches to addressing complex legal challenges of the present.

As a result of the conference, a significant contribution was made to the development of scientific research in the field of international criminal law and law enforcement, marking an important step toward strengthening legal protection for victims of war crimes.
