
Professor Liliya Mykhailyshyn, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian (Carpathian) National University, took part in the Staff Week “Becoming a Sustainable Unit – A Toolkit for Implementing Your Strategy” at the University of Potsdam (Germany). The event was organized within the framework of EDUC (European Digital UniverCity).
The initiative brought together around 20 representatives from universities across 29 countries, including leading higher education institutions in Europe such as those from France, Ireland, Norway, Israel, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Ukraine. Among the participating institutions were Université de Rennes (France), University of South-Eastern Norway (Norway), University of Haifa (Israel), Masaryk University (Czech Republic), University of Pécs (Hungary), Prague University of Economics and Business (Czech Republic), University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), and University of Limerick (Ireland) and others.
In her address, Professor Mykhailyshyn highlighted Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University as one of Ukraine’s leading higher education institutions in the field of ecology and sustainable development. She emphasized the university’s active integration of sustainability principles into its operations.
Particular attention was given to the implementation of projects based at the International Scientific Center “Observatory” on Mount Pip Ivan and the Ukrainian-Polish Youth Meeting Center. These initiatives play a vital role in advancing research on climate change, the biodiversity of the Carpathian region, and the resilience of natural ecosystems. The university has a long-standing tradition of implementing ecological projects and engaging in collaboration with local communities to promote a sustainable future.
