Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University together with the NGO “Disabled, veterans, ATO participants and volunteers “Warrior of Ukraine” is launching a rehabilitation program for the participants in the Operation of the Joint Forces. The agreement on such cooperation was signed today by Rector of the University Ihor Tsependa and the Head of the NGO Vsevolod Andrusiv. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Eduard Lapkovsky, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Zinoviy Duma and faculty members, a representative of the State Service of Ukraine for War Veterans Affairs and ATO participants in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Volodymyr Verkalets, deputy chairman of the “Warrior” Ukraine “, military ATO veteran Andriy Belegai and NGO representatives, journalists.
“Our aim is to help our defenders improve their physical and psychological health. An important aspect of our cooperation is rehabilitation. The project will involve students of the specialty “Physical therapy, ergotherapy” and teachers of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of our University. We also have a program in psychology to overcome post-traumatic stress disorder. Our specialists will be able to provide appropriate psychological assistance, which is also important, because it is necessary to harmonize the personality “, – noted the Rector of the University Ihor Tsependa during the signing of the Agreement.
“This is a very necessary project for us. For our soldiers, this is a help in restoring physical health, psychological balance and social adaptation. For the university, both for teachers and students, it’s an experience with such a category of people, “said Vsevolod Andrusov, the Head of the” Warrior of Ukraine “.
Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Zinoviy Duma during the conversation stressed that for the staff of the department and students, the project is very responsible.
“We want to support our defenders and help them. A complex of rehabilitation measures has been developed. For our students, whom we will also engage in the project, this will be an important experience in their future professional activities, “Zinoviy Duma emphasized.
Volodymyr Verkalets, a representative of the State Service of Ukraine for War Veterans and ATO participants in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, informed the present that there are currently 7510 people who participated in hostilities in the East of Ukraine, of which 402 are persons with disabilities. In this context, he emphasized the importance of such a joint project of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and NGO “Warrior of Ukraine”. Volodymyr Verkalets also wished successful cooperation to the participants and assured all support from the authorities in the implementation of the project.
