Prospects for the Development of General Secondary Education in Ukraine

Today, at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, a meeting was held between the Vice President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Oleh Topuzov, the university’s leadership, and faculty members of the Pedagogical Faculty.

The Acting Rector of the university, Ihor Tsependa, emphasized the importance of such discussions, stating:

“We live in a time that presents new challenges for everyone, especially educators. The war has demonstrated that a significant number of children now studying abroad are undergoing assimilation processes because they are no longer enrolled in Ukrainian schools. This weakens their connection with Ukrainian education and creates new problems we will face in the future. Therefore, it is crucial to forecast and develop models that will help preserve our young gene pool.”

For his part, Oleh Topuzov noted that the professional development of every teacher depends on continuous growth and readiness for change. He underscored the importance of collaboration between academics and practitioners to overcome educational challenges. “The professional growth of each of us depends on how we develop our knowledge and skills daily. It is essential to hear your perspectives on how to structure the educational process and implement these changes in practice. The way we raise the younger generation and prepare them for future challenges depends on this.”
