Precarpathian National University and Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw are launching a joint programme to teach restoration artists. The respective letter of intent of cooperation has been signed today by the rector of the Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa and Deputy Rector for Research and Development of the Academy of Fine Arts Wiktor Jędrzejec.

On August 14-15, the University was visited by a delegation from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Poland), headed by the Deputy Rector for Research and Development Wiktor Jędrzejec. During the visit, rector Ihor Tsependa had a meeting with Polish colleagues. The meeting was also attended by the professors from the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art of the Academy Janusz Smaza and Jacek Martusewicz, research and education deputy rector Halyna Mykhaylyshyn, head of the department of fine arts and applied and decorative arts and restoration of the academic-research institute of arts Bohdan Boychuk, head of the international relations department Natalia Lokatyr and invited media representatives.

“We have made a decision to launch a joint programme with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in order to start teaching experts in Ukraine, who would be able to perform restoration after receiving international experience. The program will be implemented at the department of fine arts, applied and decorative arts and restoration of our university. This is an important step. And I am thankful to our Polish colleagues for their desire to cooperate”, said rector Ihor Tsependa at the meeting.

He also informed those present that the department of fine arts, applied and decorative arts and restoration has recently introduced a new academic major “Restoration of the works of art”.

“Our professors are involved in various projects around the world. We have systematic knowledge and practical skills. Now we would like to take advantage of the opportunity to share this experience with the students of the Precarpathian university,” stressed Wiktor Jędrzejec.
