The Director General of the Directorate of Professional Pre-Higher and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science speaks about the trends and problems of the higher education system

At Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, under the chairmanship of the Director General of the Directorate of Professional Pre-Higher and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oleh Sharov, a joint meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Ivano-Frankivsk region took place. The meeting was attended by the Rector of PNU, Ihor Tsependa; the Rector of IFNTUOG, Ihor Chudyk; the Rector of IFNMU, Roman Yatsyshyn; and the First Vice-Rector of UKD, Mykhailo Kosmiy; as well as the Academic Council and the Rectorate of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and Kherson State University.

Vice-rectors and deans of higher education institutions of Precarpathian region also participated in the event.

Oleh Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Professional Pre-Higher and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, delivered a report titled “Higher Education 2024: Reforms in Wartime” at the meeting. He spoke about the trends and problems of Ukraine’s higher education system. The Director General provided detailed information on changes in the field of higher education in the context of organizing the admission campaign. In particular, Oleh Sharov emphasized that higher education institutions will not facilitate “dodgers” (those avoiding conscription). He also stressed the preferential preparation of military and law enforcement personnel.
