Carpathian observatories: expanding the boundaries of cooperation

Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa, visited the Skalnaté Pleso observatory of the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. It is located at the altitude of 1786 meters in the High Tatras (Slovakia).

Founded in 1943, by its own appearance being in difficult climatic conditions of highlands, this observatory is very similar to the International Scientific Center “Observatory” of the Precarpathian University on the Mount Pip Ivan.

That is why it was very interesting to get to know its functionality and work experience of scientists, who work there.
