The Participants of the International Project Erasmus+KA2 «GameHub: Collaboration of the Universities and Enterprises in the Game in Ukraine Summed up the Results

End-of-the project conference Erasmus+KA2 «GameHub: collaboration between universities and enterprises in game industry in Ukraine» 56128-EPP-1-2015-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP is named “GameOn: Education and Creative Industry”, took place in Kyiv National University of Building and Architecture. Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University has become its member too. Its representatives were Lyubov Zenyuk, project manager and the head of project management department, assistant professors Victor Rovinsky and Yuriy Ilyash, the head of management and business administration department, professor Valentyna Yakubiv.

The representatives of all partners’ universities participated in the conference “GameHub: University-Enterprises Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine”: The University Deusto (Spain), The University of Science and Technology AGH (Poland), The University of Aplied Sciences “FH JOANNEUM” (Austria), Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University  , Odessa National Technical University, National Technical University “Kharkiv Politechnical Institute”, Kyiv National University of Building and Architecture, Kherson National Technical University and Donetsk National Technical University.

The main goal of the event was to discuss the implementation of this project at the universities, as well as educational experience exchange and conduct research in the field of game industry. Up-to-date issues and game prospects in education were being discussed by the participants from Spain, Poland, Austria, Finland and Ukraine.

During the conference assistant professor of computer sciences and informational system, Maths and Computer Sciences Department, Viktor Rovinsky reported about the realization of the project in Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. His speech was focused on the establishment of the laboratory GameLab. There was also mentioned about 4 Modules, that had been created to hold the courses, they are: Theory and Practice of Digital Games, (Cocos 2DX) – Elementary Level,  Advanced Level, (Cocos 2DX), Theory of Sound Support and Music in digital games, Project Management in Game Industry. 32 student took these courses, among them, there were unemployed, ATO veterans and temporary frontiersmen.

 There have been worked out and implemented 3 new courses: Theory and Practice of Digital Games (Cocos 2DX) – Level Elementary, Theory of Sound Support and Music in Digital Games, Theory and Practice of Digital Games (Cocos 2DX) – Level Advanced for Bachelor’s and Master’s majoring in “The Computer Sciences” and “Informational Systems and Technologies”. 92 students have already taken a crash course.

It is worth mentioning, that due to the project Erasmus+KA2 «GameHub: the collaboration between the universities and enterprises in game industry in Ukraine“ hundreds of university teachers had an opportunity to improve their level of qualification.
