The university has published a collective monograph

To the Vasyl Stefanyk’s 149th anniversary, the university has published a collective monograph. 15th on May , Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute provided online presentation of the collective monograph “Vasyl Stefanyk, Ivan Franko, Andriy Sheptytskii in context cultural and historical processes of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. ” The event was organized by teachers of the Philology Department of Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, the Ukrainian Literature Department of Philology Faculty of the Precarpathian University and researchers of the “Pokutskoi triytsy” research Center. The online meeting was moderated by Natalia Mochernyuk, Director of the “Pokutskoi Triytsy” research Center.

The rector of the university, Professor Igor Tsependa, started the online presentation with a free speech. “The new edition is one of our achievements in preparation for the celebration in 2021 the 150th anniversary of Vasyl Stefanyk, for which the University is named after. I am so grateful to the authors of the monograph and to the book’s compilers for their great work and I wish them success in the realisation of your noble causes ,” mentioned the rector.

The participants of the online event were also greeted by Yuriy Plekan the director of the Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, Oleksandr Soletsky, the head of Philology Department, priest Father Volodymyr Humeniuk from the Kolomyia hierarchy of the UGCC (Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church). The discussion was attended by Professor Stepan Khorob. the deputy head of Ukrainian Literature Department of Philology Faculty of Precarpathian University, Valentina Bilyatska Professor of Philology and Linguistic Communication of the National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic”, Svitlana Kyryliuk associate professor of Ukrainian Literature at Chernivtsi National University named after Yuri Fedkovych, Oleg Ogirko professor of Ukrainian Studies Department in the Institute of Eastern Europe, Mykola Vasylchuk, Halyna Voloshchuk, Olga Hlovatska and Mykhailo Kovalchuk, teachers of the Philology Department.

The collective monograph covers a range of problems and problems that exist with Vasyl Stefanyk’s, Ivan Franko’s, Andrei Sheptytsky’s participation, in the Ukrainian social and cultural life of the late nineteenth – twentieth centuries. The variety of topics are due to the interdisciplinary nature of the monograph. Researchers of Ivan Franko’s and Vasyl Stefanyk’s works , the Metropolitan Andrei words and sciences clarify the socio-political activities, cultural and educational ideas of our prominent figures in the spiritual and national life of Ukrainians, their reception from the perspective of future generations. The monograph is addressed to literary critics, linguists, historians, culturologists, theologians, teachers, all who are interested in the activities of Vasyl Stefanyk, Ivan Franko and Andrey Sheptytsky.

The online event was also attended by scientists from Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, Chernivtsi and Lviv, who were the authors of the articles in the collective monograph.
